Much of her work is inspired by flowers and the outdoor environment. She applies botanical and whimsical effects to her work with inlaid slip drawings, flower pressing, sprigs (appliques) made with her handmade molds, and watercolor-like application of stains. Pat has recently become fascinated by succulents, and much of her new work involves designing and making small planters in which to arrange and embellish the plants. She also loves sailing and the marine environment, and uses sailboats and shorebirds as decorative elements.
